Year in Review Presentation Exchange andNEW Japanese and English Conversation Hour
We will be holding our Annual Zoom meeting with Nagasaki later this month. Every year, we use these meetings to check in with our friends and counterparts in Nagasaki, and both the SPNSCC and NSPSCC give "Year in Review" presentations. We'll have video messages from the St. Paul and Nagasaki mayors, and hopefully a representative of each City Hall in attendance. The meeting will be held here in the US at 7:00pm to 9:00pm CST, Friday, January 27th. In Japan, that will be 10:00am to Noon, Saturday, January 28th.
This year, we are adding something new! For 2023, SPNSCC will be hosting a new, quarterly Japanese and English Conversation Hour. The first of these will follow our "Year in Review" presentations at this January 27th meeting. Using professional-level Zoom, we will have two conversation rooms, one for those wishing to speak in Japanese, and one for those wishing to speak in English. The discussion topic for this first Conversation Hour will be "Local Holiday Customs and Traditions." With a set topic, participants have the opportunity to prepare ahead, considering what to say in their target language. This is an opportunity for greater person-to-person exchange between our organizations, as well as an opportunity to improve language skills!

Please invite your friends, family, and anyone you know who is interested in the Sister Cities, in learning practicing Japanese, or just in making friends in Nagasaki.
